As a Celebrant

In 2001, I was asked by a friend to conduct the traditional Persian Aghd for her daughter, after which I was asked by many others to do the same. It was through my friends’ encouragement that I undertook the process to qualify as a Civil Marriage performer.

Fluent in Farsi and English, I can perform your Persian Aghd ceremony in either language or a combination of both. Various aspects of the traditional Persian (non-religious) ceremony can be incorporated into the Canadian legal marriage ceremony to create a unique and seamless ceremony for you.

I will assist you in creating the words and rituals that have meaning for you. We can also integrate an explanation of the symbolism for your non-Persian guests. Additionally, I can give you advice and resources for designing and creating your Sofreh-Aghd.

You can choose one of the following two options:

• Combined ceremony including Persian Aghd and Canadian legal requirements
• Combined ceremony including Persian Aghd only

  My services to you include:

• Obligation-free introductory meeting
• Attention to detail and professional service at all times
• One booking per day only so I can focus exclusively on your special occassion
• Completion and lodgment of Notice of Intended Marriage paperwork
• Providing you with ideas and resources for your Sofreh Aghd, if required
• Combining requirements of the Persian Aghd with the marriage ceremony
• Access to my resources for wedding planning
• Additional meetings face-to-face, as required
• Unlimited contact via phone or email
• Rehearsal prior to the day, if required
• Travel Across North America
• My arrival minimum 20 minutes prior to your ceremony to ensure all is ready to proceed
• Presentation of your Certificate of Marriage on the wedding day Lodging your legal paperwork to finalise the legal process after the wedding

Additional Costs (if required):

• Travel to another City or State
• Parking (for city venues) and water taxis (for harbour ceremonies)
• Overnight accommodation
• Any unusual location for the ceremony

Please note: Should I be unable to attend your ceremony, due to serious illness or any reason beyond my control, I will arrange for a professional and experienced replacement to replace me, at no additional charge to you.
